Home Depot has revealed its next release is titled The Irish Logues, and the book has been revealed to be the sixth in the series.
The book was previously published as The Logues and the Diary of a Hanging Boy, and it follows the adventures of the family’s dog, Logs, who has just moved to the town of Donal in the Republic of Ireland.
“Logs has been living with the family for a while now and he has become a part of their lives, even being named after their home town,” Roald’s daughter and writer Emily McEwan said in a statement.
“I think it’s great that they are starting to explore a new, more intimate, life together.”
In the book, Logsy and his family are living in the countryside as a way of raising the family.
“The first chapter was about a boy named John who has always wanted to be a farmer, but the second chapter is about Logsy growing up and having to deal with his own demons,” McEwan said.
“So we have a lot of characters and some characters that we can relate to, which is really cool.”
McEwan’s new novel is set during the period between The Diary of John and The Irish Book of Quarters.
“We have to remember that this is the first book we’ve got, so we’re really excited to get to work on the next chapter, which will be set in the 1930s,” McElwain added.
“As well as being a great time for reading, it’s also a great place to write.”
